A Detailed Exploration Of The Enumerative Auxiliary Word "Shenme De"

The application of structural words is a prominent characteristic of Chinese, which is also the focus and difficult point in TCFL for international students. The use of structural words is very extensive, the auxiliary word is the one which shall be given special attention, for it not only has most Chinese typological characteristics, but also has closest relation with all kinds of notional words.Some scholars have made summarization of various classifications of auxiliary words, and put auxiliary words into seven subclasses according to the function and usage of them. The ones used after one array of words to show or assist to show their enumeration relations are classified as"enumeration word". "deng, deng deng " is the most used ones, while"shen me de"(similar to'and so on'in English) is of more oral Chinese characteristics. However, enumeration word, as one kind of auxiliary word, hasn't received enough attention in linguistics study. A lot of scholars have been undertaking researches on and making discusses about"deng, deng deng" extensively and profoundly, but few have made overall and careful research on"shen me de". Based on the achievements of former researchers and various language materials and examples, and mainly using the elements of comparative linguistics, this text describes the word comprehensively and analyzes it profoundly from the angles of attached object, syntax function, semantic meaning stipulation, and puts forward the new discoveries and unique opinions of my own, with the hope of figuring out its application domain and distribution, and making clear of its corresponding application rules finally.
