The study of structural words is an important component of the overall study of modern Chinese grammar. Among all kinds of structural words in modern Chinese, the auxiliary word is the one that has most Chinese typological characteristics. So the study of auxiliary words in Chinese takes a critical place in the overall study of vocabulary.Among the diverse auxiliary words in Chinese, there is one called enumerative auxiliary words that is often used after the listed items to indicate or help indicate an enumerative relationship. However, the enumerative word, as one kind of auxiliary word, should had have received enough attention in linguistics study.zhilei(similar to and the like in English), as an enumerative word, which is used frequently, hasn't been described and studied comprehensively and systematically by scholars. Thus, the study status of this word doesn't conform to its high frequency in actual use. It's a problem which needs further research, not only for the learners who learn Chinese as a second language, but also for the study and teaching of the structural word in Chinese.Based on the achievements of former scholars and various language materials and examples, mainly using the elements of comparative linguistics and following the principles of syntactic, semantic and pragmatic, this text firstly tries to explore the origin and development of the enumerative word zhilei, secondly describes the word comprehensively and analyzes it profoundly from the angles of attached objects, syntactic function, semantic meaning stipulation, and thirdly makes a comparative research between Chinese and English language for the sake of TCFL, with the hope of figuring out its application domain and distribution, and making clear of its corresponding application rules finally.
