With China's economic development and opening up, it has more and more frequently penetrated into international business. As a general international Language, English has become much closer to Chinese people's life. Then business English is researched by people in China, and many in-company English trainings emerge, especially oral English trainings. Meanwhile, school education has paid more attention to business English course, and many scholars have done some researches on it. However, for company staff, although there are quite a few in-service English trainings throughout the country, yet, few researches have been done on it.Current in-company English trainings pay little attention to the learning characteristics and learning needs of the staff. Those course plans are often copied from school education or other companies'trainings, which makes their trainings inefficient.This research, based on ESP (English for Specific Purposes) theories, designs a tailored course for an in-company business oral English training of Tangshan Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., China. The study makes use of questionnaires and interview to gather the information of the training objectives and the learning needs. By analyzing and integrating the information collected from the interview and the questionnaires, this study provides tailored syllabus for the course with definite training and learning objectives and requirements. And also, it proposes pertinent learning materials and teaching methods. It is a study of ESP teaching and learning which takes account of the features of business English and oral English learning, and focuses on strengthening the trainees'oral English communication in business circumstances.This study attempts to suggest a way of designing a tailored English course for in-company trainings and enrich the research on in-company training course.
