On The Possibility Of The Western Oil Painting's Reference To The Line From The Chinese Calligraphy

This paper starts from the comparison of different mediums and materials of Chinese calligraphy and Western Oil Painting, brilliantly exposing the historical manifestation of the line in the art of Chinese calligraphy and Western Oil Painting. Under the historical and cultural background of Sino-Western society which is the survival point for the beginning and development of the two, this paper probes and compares the commonness and differences in the knowledge, aesthetic taste and ways of manifestation of the line between the Chinese calligraphy and Western Oil Painting. At the same time, this paper tries to take the elements of the art of line from the Chinese calligraphy and to make the possibility of merging into the art of Western Oil Painting.
