Denis Diderot, as one of the 18th century French Enlightenment thinkers, his philosophy contains rich conception of social history. Studying his thought of conception of social history deeply can help us comprehensively grasp Diderot's philosophy, reveal the theoretical source of conception of social history in Germany's classical philosophy and Marxist historical materialism ,has important theoretical value to contemporary society. The current domestic and international study on Diderot's philosophy only focused on its natural concept of materialism, epistemology and atheism, and the comprehensive and systematic research results on Diderot's conception of social history have not yet appeared .Having finished collecting information wildly ,the author studied Diderot's conception of social history in the way of historical literature analysis, combining value analysis and times analysis ,and Diderot's conception of social history show out as one system of thought. Generally speaking, Diderot's conception of social history regarded the people as the starting point, pursuit of personal happiness and tranquility is its core, to fight for freedom and equality is the main theme, the original communist ideology is its destination. He put forward a number of ideas on human nature, established their own social contract theory to explain the origin of the community, put forward his own unique perspective on freedom and equality , and put on the national, legal, and the revolutionary ideas and points of view. Finally, he detailed outline of the future blueprint for the ideal of a society in his original color communist ideology, and put forward the meaning to promote the social development to achieve an ideal society. His conception of social history promoted effectively French bourgeois revolution as an important theoretical weapon. Basing on the response to the question on the fundamental driving force of social development, his social history belongs to the abstract interest conception of social history. In the course of the development of European conception of social history, Diderot's conception of social history played the role of a link between the past, beyond the subjective rational conception of social history, was a prelude to Marxist historical materialism. From his conception of social history, we can be enlightened as follows: Firstly, we can not leave people of the community to talk about social history. Secondly, we should properly look at the relationship between the individual and society. Thirdly, the rule of law should become an important push forward social development strategy.
