Prospective memory refers to the memory of what will happen in the future. There are two types of prospective memory: event-based prospective memory,time-based prospective memory .After the conception of Prospective memory was established,it got the focus of many researchers and grows fast. The self has special influence on memory. The memory will get better effect when it is related with the self. This is named self reference effect (SRE) by Rogers. The Purpose of this research is to prove that the advantage of SRE reflects on event-based prospective memory. In research ,we used a serious of factors to control the use of the reference condition in completing tasks of prospective memory . Based on former researches we make the following assumptions. First, the different conditions with reference impact of the effects of prospective memory, this impact expressed in the forward-looking and backward looking components of memory. Second, different reference conditions effects of prospective memory in an independent and special means. This research adopts three experiments to test the above assumptions. The experiment conclusions as following: (1) in different conditions with reference is an important factor to the impact of prospective memory effect. (2) There is a different trend between different reference conditions.(3) Existed a self-reference effect in the prospective memory.
