The main aim of teaching Chinese language to overseas learners is to let them grasp and understand Chinese language fluently. Besides learning the language, students ought to fully understand and master the basic concepts in Chinese character writing. To Vietnamese learners, mastering Chinese characters as well as writing is a big problem. In this regard, students from Europe, USA, Japan and Korea as compared to Vietnamese have a big difference in character writing. So this paper tries to explore student's errors commiting while learning the language from primary, intermediate and high school levels. The paper also explores errors in character writing based on sysematic approach in particular situational levels. The main aim of this paper is to set basic assumptions and directions as far as Chinese characters learning and teaching process is concerned.
