The adverbs "QUE SHI" and "SHI ZAI" were regularly used in the modern written and spoken Chinese,they were the common used words in Chinese Language Teaching.The explanations of the existing reference books for these two words were not clear.In the meanwhile,the teaching materials in Chinese Language teaching glossed them with the same words many times.We haven't searched the articles which compare these two words specially."QUE SHI" and "SHI ZAI" can both be used for adverb and adjective.In this thesis,we just compare and research them from the semantic,pragmatics,syntax and section angles.We will bring forward the following viewpoint:The semantic meaning of "QUE SHI" is,to affirm the authenticity of the instance,including impersonality and subjective affirming.Its semantic character is[+affirming];Otherwise,the meaning of "SHI ZAI" is,to emphasize the authenticity of the instance,equally the impersonality and subjective emphasizing.Its semantic character is[+emphasizing]."SHI ZAI" and "QUE SHI" are both annotate adverbs,the annotate degree of the former word is deeper than that of the latter word.Because of this character,they have different usages in different conditions.The sentence with "QUE SHI" has obvious indication,this kind of indication contains "with sign" and "without sign",and the function of "QUE SHI" is affirming the indication.However,"SHI ZAI" doesn't have this function.They will tie in different predication,then we will analyze how they choose different sentences.With regard to the sections and chapters,"QUE SHI" can be used in the front of a sentence.The function of its' linking up is stronger than "SHI ZAI".In the end of our thesis,in order to insure the regular processing of the Chinese Language Teaching, we provide a few actual advices in the material compiling and teaching methods for reference.
