The Dragon Carved in the Heart of Literature is a great literature theory in ancient times in China, it has being known by the fame of "wide boundary and profound thought" and "wide boundary and complete consideration". During the research, I discover Liu Xie's view of formal esthetic contains several characters: esthetic of novelty, esthetic of magnificent, esthetic of sentiment. Besides, Liu Xie's construction for form esthetic is different from the one-sided pursue of "formalism". His theory of formal esthetics, which was rooted in the field of Chinese lyric literature and stood in the historical division, penetrated the junction point between "form esthetic" and "achieving changes" in literature, and made the two to get organically together and to explain each other interactively.
