Comparative Study On History Of Modern Design Between Japan And Korea

After a half century of growth and expansion,the modern design of Korea and Japan has made striking achievements,and domineering to the appeal has been in the Chinese market by"Japanese style"and"Korean influence". We should be given the great importance to the design of Japanese and Korean profession. However, we studied on the products of Japan and Korea in the market more than their modern design. Although we knew a little of Japanese design, Korea's much less. On the occasion of China's modern design of a crucial period, it is very important that we analysis thread of their modern design development, as well as study based on this comparative, especially the design of China's current position and future development plans, or even directly related to China future economic development.The modern design development of Japan and Korea is evidently different from European design: it is unique that Japan and Korea modern design is not"spontaneous", but subordinate and dependent on the economy. Japan and Korea are bathing in Confucian culture in the long-term, also influenced by the United States-business and popular culture post-war, and in the whole space-time environment post-war with international industrial and technological development, cause their modern design characterization similarity. However, Japanese and Korean have different values, chose and absorbed through the design of mainstream thinking on the post-war, caused a different style on their with a"narrow"rational philosophy of the Japanese and the"curvilinear"aesthetic sensibility in Korea, Based on this and integrated other cultural elements, such as costumes, dance, films and television, animation, games, through modern means of communication with the media swept Asia and spread to the entire world market.In this study, Japanese and Korean modern design process followed Timeline lengthways as a starting point, concluded their modern design development model─Inverted Pyramid Structure, basis on this, and transverse compared by three areas background, such as the political economic, Social Culture, science and technology, summe up their factors impacting on the course of modern design, then found the conditions for development, Convergence and differences between them, finally analyze value of the study on their modern design for China.
