The Inspiration Of The Art Of Tang And Song Dynasty To The Art Education Of The Contemporary Colleges

The development of the Chinese ancient art was of long standing and blossomed in Tang and Song Dynasty. In between, there appeared a lot of outstanding artists and classical art products. The occurrence of this phenomenon is not accidental and the exploration of its deep causes and the use of its good aspects for reference will surely contribute to the development of the art education of the contemporary era.Because the Tang and Song Dynasty experienced great social stability and economic thriving, the development of the art took on a trend of diversity. Firstly, the features of the official art education were as follows: the collection of the art products was paid attention to; the institutions of the art education were set up; the teaching system was developed; the systemic art theories were formed; with the perfection of the system of the imperial examinations, the official art of the Tang Dynasty gradually made for maturity; the paintings of the Tang Dynasty were mainly to show the sentiment of the scholar-bureaucrat. Secondly, the teaching content of the craftsman art included the painting theories, the painting skills, and so on; the folk craftsman art and the master-prentice system made for maturity.In Song Dynasty, the painting academy was the main educational form of the official art education. The painting academy was the nonesuch of the Chinese ancient painting education and was also the biggest institution of the art education with the best system. The formation of the painting academy in Song Dynasty contributed to the resplendence of painting in that period. The admission system and the curriculum design of the painting academy were well developed, which formed the unique educational system. At the same time, its educational ideas, theories and measures, especially the features in the teaching area, also have positive influence on the art education of the contemporary era.Although the art education in Tang and Song Dynasty differs from the contemporary art education in many aspects, many excellent theories could still show its unique value by its strong vitality, superiority and rationality. These excellent traditions should have new developments in new situations. In the contemporary art education, there are still many aspects which need to be improved, such as the improper educational system and the loss of values. Although the art in Tang and Song Dynasty didn't have a complete system, some of its valuable aspects still have positive influence on the solution to the problems in the contemporary art education.By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the art education in Tang and Song Dynasty, we hope to make the contemporary art education step into normalization. By actively using the rational items of the art education in Tang and Song Dynasty for reference, such as the master-prentice system, the cultivation of the ability of creativity, the improvement of the theoretical qualities, and so on, we hope to put forward our own ideas on the solution to some of the contemporary problems.To sum up, this thesis takes the development of the contemporary art education as its perspective. By examining the development of the art education in Tang and Song Dynasty, it aims at discovering its features, development rules and positive items. By making use of these discoveries and by comparing the development of the art education in Tang and Song Dynasty and the contemporary art education, it aims at exploring the positive influence of the former on the latter and solving the problems in the contemporary art education. We hope that the contemporary art education can make good use of the essence of the art education in Tang and Song Dynasty and develop in a healthy way.
