The Comparative Study Of Preposition Of Introducing Topics

Topic is one of the hot topics in the domain of Chinese grammar studies. There are many conceptions about topic,most of which are involved in its semantic character, syntax character and conversational function. The relationship between topic and subject has aroused general concern and it's very difficult to have a clear definition about it.This paper doesn't agree with the idea that the topic and subject come out of the same language coordinate. They're in different categories. In terms of pragmatics, there's correspondence between a topic and a comment. A Chinese sentence can be topicalized by means of certain measures. Such as forward placing, adding mark words. This paper focuses on how to make sentence topicalized by adding prepositions. Preposition as a relative word in chinese sentence structure plays an important role in syntactic, semantic and pragmatic structure. Preposition has syntactic, semantic and pragmatic function. This paper pays attention to its pragmatic function, which mainly embodies in several aspects as well as its topic mark function.There are many prepositions which have topic mark function. There are more than ten prepositions in the book《Eight Hundred Modern Chinese Vocabularies》.This paper chooses several representative prepositions including"duiyu""guanyu""zhiyu"as the research object.Whether the topic is led by preposition or not will make a difference. In the main part of this paper, we discuss the mechanisms of the default of the three prepositions"duiyu""guanyu""zhiyu"as topic mark.When the topic is led by"duiyu""guanyu"and"zhiyu"the semantic component of the patient of predicate, object and aspect should be moved to the head of a sentence from the location of a comment so as to highlight the information focus of the comment section.The topic led by three prepositions is the sentence component between which there is a pause and the following statement. "duiyu""guanyu"not only lead topic. When they lead topic,"duiyu"mainly refers to object while"guanyu"mainly expresses involvement and a certain scope. What"zhiyu"is leading is another topic, Which can be used in a short sentence or at the head of a sentence. The topic led coordinates with another topic or moves forward.
