There are various opinions on the definition of Ti and Mao in academia. Mr. Li Rulong (1996) addresses the one close to aspect Ti, and the one which tends to reflect the actor's certain intention and emotions Mao. Based on this notion, the aspectual system of Nanning Baihua dialect can be divided into verb state and sentence state.Verb state includes perfect aspect, persisting aspect, progressive aspect, experienced aspect, inchoative aspect, continuous aspect, recurrent aspect; short-timed mode, attemptive mode, duplicative mode and expanded mode. Sentence state includes accomplished state, unaccomplished state, motionless state, prior state and hypothesized state. This paper describes and analyzes the forms, functions and characteristics of Nanning Baihua dialect aspect and tense by means of comparing to Mandarin and Cantonese, giving prominence to the differences between sub-dialects in Yue dialect and exploring the grammatical process of some typical aspectual marks. The aspectual marks of Nanning Baihua dialect stem from resultative complement, directional complement, bleaching locality categories and morphological way. Due to the random of using characters, grammatical process of some of the aspectual marks can not be probed. Compared with Mandarin, the aspect and tense of Nanning Baihua dialect is richer; aspectual marks and the forms of expressing are mainly monosyllable words, more succinct; the combination of word and word is more diversed. The main differences between Nanning Baihua dialect and Cantonese are the characters of the aspectual marks, aspectual form of expressing and the expression of several suffixes. Nanning Baihua dialect is currently developing and changing , with the trend of approaching Mandarin.
