The Research Of Product Innovative Design Based On Semiotics

The research on semiotics can date from Greece era. With a long time for research on semiotics, the semiotics now has become more and more perfect. There are many masters and scholars who have made great contributions to research on semiotics. As one of first science, semiotics can combine with other subjects and develop other different characteristic research fields, for instance, film semiotics, society semiotics and culture semiotics. The combination between semiotics and other subjects can not only provide useful theory to these subjects but also can extend the meaning of the semiotics.The development of the semiotics is first introduced and the related theory is analyzed. On the basis of Morris'semiotics, the author introduces the related theory about semiotics into product design. The semantic difference chart and the semantic intention chart are introduced. The practical design case is carried out under the two methods. In chapter three, analysis on form factors and materials is introduced which is content of product syntactic. In chapter four, analysis on object and environment which relates products is introduced. In chapter five, analysis on color and form is introduced. In the end of this chapter, the semantic difference chart and the semantic intention chart are described. The first method is constituted by the meaning of chart and the tendency of semanteme. The second method is created by scene which relates the users. And the two methods can be used during in process of design. When in prophase of project the two methods can designate direction of design. When in middle and end period of project the two methods can be as standard to proposal related. In chapter six, calligraphy chair is analyzed and military vehicle is illustrated to illuminate how the product semiotics is used with product design.
