My Research On The Value Of Fuzhou Shi Fan Music

Fuzhou Shi fan music culture is one of the China's first batch of outstanding folk music included by "Non-Material Cultural Heritage Protection List". In its long history of the development, it has been rooted in an oral form of the broad masses of people chanting the eulogy of life, loving labor, keeping close to nature, and uniting and struggling. In the long course of development, Shi fan music has absorbed the highlights of cultures in different regions and different nationalities. Through a long process of accumulation, it has become a kind of music culture sung and performed by generations. Therefore, it is honored as "the ancient nationality's life memory", "the active state cultural gene bank".At the same time, we also see that Fuzhou Shi fan music has long been subjected to the historical, social environmental constraints as well as its simplicity of practices , so inevitably it has had its shortcomings, such as a multi-cultural edge, the disadvantaged position in the arts, the lack of exchanges in refining and inheriting. However, Fuzhou Shi fanmusic represents the wisdom of working people and the spirit of folk custom and its value can not be replaced and concealed. This is my intention to sum up comprehensively and systematically the real value of Fuzhou Shi fan music by using literature review, comparative analysis, and other research methods.This paper discusses three major music values of Fuzhou Shi fan, namely: historical and cultural value, art value, social and economic value. It basically embraces the time and space of folk culture and folk custom and covers the fields it radiates. Therefore, the author is pleased to see that the value of Fuzhou Shi fan music is in it.It can be foreseen that relying on its strong vitality, broad-mindedness and its outstanding value and catalyzed by today's superior environment, Fuzhou Shi fan music will be serving the society, keeping inheritance and innovation, and lasting forever.
