Development Of The Scale About Self-control Ability In Internet Use For College Students

With the popular use of internet,the network moral anomie,internet addiction and so many problems about internet use are paid more and more attention on college students who are the most activity internet user-groups.Though there are many reasons for these problems,one of the most important reasons is college students' self-control ability in internet.As a specific self-control ability, self-control ability in internet use is the exhibition of self-control in using internet.Self-control,which it has got adequate theories and is widely used in many aspects in social life, has researched deeply In psychology science.But there are few researches about self-control in internet use which are new problems.So the research on self-control ability of college students is the subject that not only has great value on theory,but also has positive reality significance.This article which based on the existed research of the theories,structures and scales about self-control,preposes the structure about self-control in internet use through the methods of anaysis and synthesis.Based on all of these,contacting with internet use situation,the items of self-control ability in internet use are created through open questionnaire,life experiences and documental analysis.After testing and re-testing,a high reliability and validity scale named self-control ability in internet use is created,in which the statistical method of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis are used.At the same time,self-control ability and self-control ability in internet use were compared in seven objective variables.At last the results as follow were got:(1) The self-control ability in internet use which was created by this research has a high reliability and validity.This scale is used not only as a whole,but also could be separately used in three subscales which scale the different mental process in the self-control ability in internet use; (2) Though college students'self-control ability in internet use has gender difference as self-control ability has too,it has no gender difference in predicting internet use problems.(3) college students' self-control ability in internet use is sensitive to whether owning computer which can effectively interpret the difference in grade,students' types and singleton child or not.
