Adolescents were the significant group of the Internet use. The present paper from Pathological Internet Use (PIU) defined the Internet negative effect on adolescent achievement\behavior habit\emotion and feeling to some degree. Based on the assumption that the Internet use was the interaction of adolescent mental development level and the quality of Internet, the present research investigated the correlates that may influence 589 adolescents' (the middle school students') PIU through the questionnaire method. The author conceptualized and measured the following variables: Time perspective; the Coping style; Reduced harm Internet Use self-efficacy; Positive Peer Involvement; Moderate Parents Involvement; the Totality of Internet Use and the Score of functions. After the research used the Structure Equation Model (SEM) to fit the collected data, the following pathways were demonstrated at the significant level: 1,The time perspective present(TPP)â†'PIU. 2,TPPâ†'abreactionâ†'PIU. 3,TPPâ†'Positive Peer Involvementâ†'PIU. 4,TPP â†'Problem solvingâ†'PIU.5,TPPâ†'Positive Peer Involvementâ†'the score of functionsâ†'PIU. 6,The time perspective future(TPF)â†'Moderate parent Involvementâ†'PIU. 7,TPFâ†'Problem solvingâ†' PIU .8, TPFâ†'Abreactionâ†'PIU. It concluded from the pathways that TPP predicted the PIU through the variables: TPP\abreaction\Positive Peer Involvement\the score of functions; and that TPF could predict PIU through problem solving\Moderate Parents Involvements\abreaction, but PIU also had an effect on abreaction. Those variables that reflected adolescent self-regulation or self-control and social resources (social support) could make them benefit the Internet use. The final of the paper discussed the results from the fit model. The problems in the current research, methods to defend PIU and the future research field were also pointed out.
