The Book of Change is one of the most ancient cultural books in china,which has always been classified as the first of Five Classics.Over 3000 years as a bright wisdom pearl in Chinese culture history,it has also had far-ranging influence in other Eastern countries.Approximately in the 2nd century the Book of Change spread to Vietnam, and received the approval of the Vietnamese Feudalism Royal government.Henceforth until the end of the 19th century century it unceasingly displayed the influence.Until now there are also many Vietnamese scholars attach importance to The Book of Change. The paper mainly researches the development of The Book of Change in Vietnam,as well as the influence which has produced to Vietnam in the 20th century.Before the 20th century as the head of Various Classics,The Book of Change received the Vietnamese Confucianist's esteem vigorously,and had the broad influence on society,literature,medicine and so on in Vietnam.Since the 20th century Vietnam no longer used Chinese,and also abolished the imperial civil service examination test. But The Book of Change still receives widespread attention and has new development, which could divide into three stages:in the first stage from 1900 to 1945 the scholars who studied on The Book of Change received the influence of Confucian thoughts a lot, and its main representative is Phan Boi Chau and Ngo Tat To.In the second stage from 1945 to 1986 because of the influence of the Western culture on the Vietnamese scholars' thoughts,the studies on The Book of Change had the prominent progress but also presented some new problems.In the third stage from 1986 until now The Book of Change receives more widespread attention.Many Vietnamese scholars have introduced and translated The Book of Change,and have conducted the thorough researches on each aspect.The researches have received the substantial achievements, but also have some insufficiencies.According to the research direction this paper could divide into two major parts: the studies on the classics and commentaries of The Book of Change and the studies on the Vietnamese scholars' thoughts of research on and explanation for The Book of Change.The first part mainly studies The classics and commentaries of The Book of Change,its representative works are Ngo Tat To's The Book of Change Comprehensive work and Duong Ngoc Dung's and Le Anh Minh's Chinese Thoughts Configuration of the Book of Changes.They have many contributions in the translation styles and the annotation ways.The second part mainly studies the thoughts of Phan Boi Chau, Nguyen Hien Le and Le Van Quan on The Book of Change.Phan Boi Chau and Nguyen Hien Le pay attention to the principle of change and attach importance to the positive thoughts of The Book of Change,and Le Van Quan mainly studies the worldview and the dialectical thoughts of The Book of Change.It is very important to discuss the development and spread of The Book of Change in Vietnam.The researches on these questions could blazon forth Chinese thoughts and culture,and promotes the cultural exchange between China and Vietnam.
