A Research On The Gender Words Of Modern Chinese And Its Acquisition

It is a common idea for human to make the difference according to the sex,but there is different between the physical sex and gender in grammatical category.For example,there are genders for nouns in Fench,German and Russian.But Chinese noun doesn't have difference in gender.Chinese mainly uses some gender words to differentiate the sex of nouns.This thesis mainly research on commonly used three pairs of gender words in modern Chinese.They are "nan/nv","gong/mu","ci/xiong".We analyze the matching scope about the three pairs of gender words in the base on the Statistics of corpus.At the same time,we make a comparison with the Gender words of English.To analyse the difference between English and Chinese gender expression from Cognitive Linguistics angle.Further more,by the means of questionnaire,we investigated some foreign students in middle and high level of learning Chinese in Jinan University to see their acquisition of Chinese gender words.At last,basically depdending on the acquisition study,some suggestion was put forwards for teachting gender words in the class of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
