Zaoxiang Liangdu Jing is an artistic text regarding the human's measure, which was created in about 10th century according to the textual research and has been translated into Tibetan before 14th century at least. It has been followed by Tibetan Artists as an important rule for making sculpture for hundreds of years. This Text together with other three texts about measure are also called as San jing Yi shu,and were all collected in the Tibetan Canon and then have became the one of the greatest three schools of sculpture measurement systems in Tibetan. In this four texts,Zaoxiang Liangdu Jing is the most important one, thus it should be treated as the indispensable theory for the Tibetan art research. During the Qianlong reign,Xifan Zongguan mGon-po skyabs(工布查布) translated this text into Chinese.Actually, this Chinese version had little effect on Han Chinese practice of making sculpture, but it consists of many significant information for the scholars on Tibetan art.It is well-known that literature is the basis for the research on Tibetan Buddhist art.Since 20th century,a lot of savants have focused on the Zao xiang Liang du Jing, however, most of them just concentrated on single version. Therefore, this dissertation tries to study the similarities and differences between Tibetan and Chinese versions of Zaoxiang Liangdu Jing with the strict historical methodology, and translate the Zhengjue Foshuo Shenyingxiang Shi which is the commentary for Zaoxiang Liangdu Jing into Chinese, and compare it with original text, and then make some discussion about the source of these three texts. At last, several problems that should be coped with are introduced in the conclusion, which may become the core of disputation among academic circles in the future.
