It is necessary to know that in recent years, the field of Chinese animation began to focus on establishing its own brand awareness, and at the same time set off a "Chinese style" upsurge, which called the animation with Chinese audio-visual elements "Chinese style" animation. However, since the beginning of the 21 st century,"Chinese style" animation emerged in China still has traces of simply copying and applying foreign animation works, and the essence of Chinese regional culture, especially traditional culture, has not been fully expressed. However, with the rapid development of Japanese animation field after World War II,it gradually formed a national "visual modeling image" with "highly recognizable" visual aesthetic characteristics. The characters in many artists' works are fine-tuned based on this "visual modeling image",forming a unique Japanese animation visual style, which can form a joint force in the competition with big animation countries in Europe and America. In addition,it is necessary to know that the research on the "character painting modeling characteristics" of our nation in the field of Chinese contemporary animation is insufficient. Many works seek inspiration for character modeling design in Japanese style,American style and European style. In the world animation field for decades, the national "visual modeling image" of Chinese animation characters has not been established. Therefore, research, inheritance, reference and integration are the only way to nationalize domestic animation and gradually form a "Chinese style" animation creation system.Through literature research, case study, field investigation and other methods, this topic studies the classical image measurement methods in Tibetan Buddhist classics, and applies them to the measurement research of the faces of the figures in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which not only refines the regularity of face measurement, but also is more conducive to exploring the aesthetic style of the local animation character modeling design and constructing the national visual image. In addition, the analysis of the way to form a unique Japanese animation visual style in Japan also draws rich experience for domestic animation. Finally,it focuses on the analysis of the current situation of domestic animation and its finding methods. The following is a general structure of this topic: it should be known that the first part mainly describes the purpose, significance and methods of the research. However, the second part is to explain the Chinese version of "Buddhist Canon of Iconometry" and explain the construction method of face measurement system. However,it is also necessary to know the third part is 54 paintings of Ming and Qing Dynasties were selected to study the facial measurement, and the universal facial features were summarized. In addition, the fourth part analyzes the visual images of Japanese cartoon characters and the aesthetic features of characters' faces in Japanese TV animation. Finally, the fifth part analyzes how Chinese animation is declining and the problems faced by domestic animation.
