The translation of scenic-spot introductions is quite different from the translation of other practical writings, i.e. official documents, economic contracts, news reports, and etc. With aesthetic feature, scenic-spot introductions can bring readers aesthetic feelings; however, various kinds of present problems lead to much loss of beautifulness. Regarding to many defects of present studies in this field, this paper probes into scenic-spot introductions from perspective of the aesthetic modes.Based on translation aesthetics, this paper puts emphasis on the aesthetic features of Chinese scenic-spot introductions by using typical examples. It is pointed out that aesthetics is commonly applied to literary translation, and its noticeable function is also obvious in translating scenic-spot introductions. The relevant theories of translation aesthetics will be demonstrated first; then, aesthetics subject and object will be analyzed separately to show their roles. Meanwhile it will be mentioned by study that Chinese scenic-spot introductory text has many features different from English ones, such as beautifulness of indirectness, complexity and fuzziness; thus the application of translation aesthetics is proposed. And to maintain the beauty at sound level, lexical level, and syntactic level; the adoption of translation strategies as amplification, deletion and recasting is essential. As a theory linked with pragmatics, psychology, cultural study and etc., translation aesthetics can be adopted to conduct thorough researches on tourism texts from many perspectives. And present translation problems as spelling mistakes, non-uniformity of names, pseudo-equivalence, redundancy, over-omission, and culture-related errors, contradict essence of aesthetics. Therefore, the present author suggests that aesthetics be a guide to future translation practice, in order to meet tourists' aesthetic tastes and to test the present versions.
