The Phonological Study On ShaMuQiao Tuhua In LengshuiTan County Of Hunan Province

The Xiang dialect occupies a special place in researching of Chinese dialects,but the research into it is relatively weak in the academic community and some areas of it needs to be researched.The Shamuqiao of Lengshuitan in Hunan belongs to bidialectural area that is the coexistence of "mandarin" and "local dialect".The local dialect lacks systematic research that has been mentioning only in some theses and works.In view of these facts,based on phonetic materials from on-the-spot investigations,the writer mainly uses the method of comparative analysis to make a concrete depciting on the phonetic system such as sound,rhyme,tune and their coordination,and compares it to Huaqiao local dialect of Dong'an,mandarin of Lingling and Lanjiaoshan local dialect.Finally,the writer maks a summary of the dialect rank of the Shamuqiao local dialect.This thesis consists of five chapters besides an introduction and a conclusion.The introduction briefly introduces the geography,the history,the population,the use situation of the language of Shamuqiao and the present research of the Shamuqiao local dialect as well as the foucus and significance of the present study.Chapter one comprehensive describes the phonetic system of Shamuqiao local dialect.Chapter two analyses phonological features of Shamuqiao local dialect.Chapter three describes and analyses literary reading and colloquial reading.Chapter four is about the syllabary of homophones of Shamuqiao local dialect.Chapter five draws the outline of similarities and difference between Shamuqiao local dialect and Huaqiao local dialect,Lingling mandarin, Lanjiaoshan local dialect,and further proof the dialect rank of Shamuqiao. Finally,the conculsion sums up Shamuqiao local dialect belongs to Hunan dialect.
