The Female Image In Zhang Xingxing's Early Time Novels

Among the female writers appeared in the 80s,Zhang Xinxin, continually self-exploring and self-surpassing,is a particular one.She challenged himself bravely,and tried new ways of creation without end. So that she opened up her privite space with her personal writing in modern literature circle.In the female images which created in Zhang's eartly writing,there are two aspacts deserve to be analyzed:First of all,she gave a deep analysis to those masculinized female images,such as the young conductor in Where I Missed You,and the wife as a female director in On the Same Horizon,and so on,with her exquisite and keen characters which belong only to women.Those images are all characterized of their desire of both social statues which are equal to males' and the tender sentiments from family and love.It is the cause that formed the contradictions in their hearts,for in their deep hearts they are still eager to be cared by males emotionally.There are many reasons,including both natural physical causes and social historical causes,which formed this situation."Women always torture themselves between their desire for independence and uncapability of being independent",is the main topic in Zhang Xinxin's works.Meanwhile,Zhang also created two kind of characters for contrasting.One is tranditional women,the other is men who are unclear.This paper is designed to analyze it in both construction and narration aspects.Secondly,in order to reveal the conflicts rising in their way of searching for the balance between pysical character and social character, she took advantages of many psychological ways,such as inner narration, consciousness of stream and so on.Some inner narration passed through the whole novel,while some others served as construction of the novel. Through the close reading of those description,we find that the narrator and characters could get along very well,while there big gap between characters and readers.Zhang Xinxin's narration,to some degree,payed little attention on plots,wheras she focused much on narration.In this way,we could find that the writer meaned to express her urgent emotion by way of her characters,so that to take the personal writing out of the control of main-stream narration.This paper refers to analyze the female images created by Zhang Xinxin,her technique of expression,intention of creation as well as her influence among female writers.So that to make sure her real value,but no only to understand her through the theory of feminism.
