Research On Female Image Of Yu Hua’s Novels

Yu Hua is one of the most influential pioneer novelists in the contemporary era.He has won various awards at home and abroad on many occasions and he is seen as the vanguard of the novel revolution.In recent years,the researcher’s discussion and analysis of Yu Hua’s works has been thorough and sufficient,but the research on the female images in his novels is still relatively weak.This is because Yu Hua’s female image was placed in a silent position in his creation and it was in an obscure state,which lead to the deficiency of three-dimensional and typical characteristics of the female image.This dissertation tries to study the female images in Yu Hua’s works and criticize the male centeredness in literary works to awaken the sense of independence of women in today’s society and the right to equality between men and women.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction.First of all,it summarizes the achievements of Yu Hua’s novels,and summarizes the changes of the novel styles in the 1980 s and 1990 s.Secondly,based on the research status of Yu Hua’s novels,it focuses on the deficiencies of female image research.The second part is the first chapter of the dissertation.This chapter starts with the tragic female image,the status of female image in male society,and the deep analysis of the tragedy of female images.It analyzes the different types of female images in Yu Hua’s novels and reveals that female characters are oppressed in male society,status and inequality as male appendages and the underlying causes behind women’s tragic fate.The third part is the second chapter of the thesis.This chapter begins with Yu Hua’s creative process and analyzes the change of the characteristics of female image from the 1980 s to the 1990 s.The fourth part is the third chapter of the dissertation,the uniqueness of female writing.This chapter starts with narratology and aesthetic imagery,and writes masked and marginalized women through a male-centered narrative perspective and a male power narrative discourse,reflecting women’s marginal position in the male-dominated social environment.The state of aphasia and the life under social disregard,through the analysis of special images,reveals the hidden deep multiple meanings in the novel.Finally,by analyzing the repeated narrative function in the novel,the author finds out the unique charm of Yu Hua’s poetic style.The fifth part is the conclusion of the thesis.It sums up the core content of the study of female images and the value and significance of female images in today’s society.We expect more literators to broaden the breadth and depth of the research on Yu Hua’s female images.
