The Study Of The Status Of Post-graduates' Mental Health In Guizhou Province And The Correlation Between It And Stress And Self-esteem

As a special group,with the pressure from learning,employment,life and other factors,post-graduates have strong psychological conflicts.They are faced with serious challenges about mental health.At present,the issue of college students' mental health has been researched a lot,but mostly confined to college and academic school students.There are relatively less researches on the status of post-graduates' mental health.This study has made a full understanding of the actuality about post-graduate students' mental health and also explores the impact of pressure and self-esteem on mental health,which is beneficial to the improvement of post-graduates' mental health and also provides scientific and theoretical basis for the effective education and management of postgraduates.The following conclusions have been reached in this study:1.In general,the majority of graduate students show a positive mental health status,but all the factors of SCL-90 are higher than the average level of common adults in China.2.This study finds that there are significant differences between genders in the Hostility,Phobia anxiety,Paranoid ideation,Pshchoticism and SCL-90 scores.Male post-graduates are significantly higher than female.3.In the way of training graduates,the only significant difference exists in interpersonal relationship,and there shows no significant difference in other aspects of mental health.Arts graduate students show better mental health condition than science graduate students,and significant differences exist between them in the Hostility,Phobia anxiety and Pshchoticism.4.There exist no significant differences in graduate students' mental health due to different marital status,which proves that marital status is by no means one of the main factors that influence post-graduates' mental health5.Grade Two post-graduates have better mental health condition than that of Grade One and Grade Three.The mental health is a "U"-shaped trend.There are significant differences between the three grades in Somatization,Anxiety,Phobia anxiety,paranoid ideation and Psychoticism.6.With regard to the relation between mental health and stress,self-esteem, through the multiple stepwise regression analysis,this study finds that pressure and self-esteem has a significant effect of forecast on mental health.7.In order to improve post-graduate students' mental health,we should enhance the entrance education for post-graduates to raise their awareness of mental health. We should release their pressure and improve their self-esteem in various ways to improve their mental health.
