On The Frescos In The Guia Church, Macau

The paper directed its attention on frescos in the Guia church,Macau,made a in-depth research about the chruch.First,with the benefit of ancient image picture,the evolution of the church was investigated and then approximately dated.Second,by analyzing the church building,fescos,painting material and style,the author deduced that the frescos were not finished at one time,but created at several stages.Last but not the least,all frescos were classified into two types:religious items and decorative items.The author analyzed those items one by one,made clear some problems in doubt.For items could not be read with certainty,several reasonable hypothesisses have been raised.As an iconography study,the paper has disserted multi-cultural informations behind the frescos by means of field work and historical data searching.
