VRC is a syntax structure which consists of a verb and its resultative complement. The sentence made up of VRC instructs a causative situation and includes two propositions, P1 and P2. Taking the Case Grammar and the GB Theory as guidance, this thesis research centers on the semantic frame and the arrangement of the argument structure and the theta structure of SVC whose relationship of P1 is not between the agent and the patient. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the distribution of this kind of SVC in"ba"-zi constructions,"bei"-zi constructions and verb-copying constructions. The main contents of this thesis can be listed as follows:1.According to the Case Grammar, the first chapter studies on the various semantic frames which this kind of SVC can go in. On the basis of the different proposition's structures and the different semantic indications of the resultative complements, we can divide these frames into five types.2.Relying on the GB Theory and the Light Verb Theory, the second chapter analyzes the generation process of this kind of SVC from deep structure to surface structure, and summarizes the arrangement of the argument structure and the theta structure. Simultaneously, because VRC expresses a causative sense, we can discuss the integration mechanism of VRC in the causative semantic category. In order to enhance the reliability of the conclusions, we may take the integration mechanism as an auxiliary proof to confirm with the generation process which is derived by the GB Theory to each other.3.Using the conclusions that we got in the earlier, the third chapter investigates the transformation of this kind of SVC in the relevant constructions. Not only describe the distribution of this kind of SVC in"ba"-zi constructions,"bei"-zi constructions and verb-copying constructions, we also hunt for the reasons that caused the difference. |
