Research Of Jilin Province's Local Chronicles

In such an ancient country with an abundant history cultural heritage,there are a plenty of ancient codes and books,which are available for us to do the research.And local chronicles as a documentary material is the same like local encyclopedia,it can provide us many valuable information.Modern Chinese dictionary says,Local chronicle is a book which records one certain place's geography,history,custom, education,product,people and so on.Such as,town chronicles and province chronicles.The oldest local chronicle in our country can stem from East Zhou period,,borned in Qin and Han periods' local annals,developed in Sui and Tang periods' ,formated in Song periods and named chronicle, in Yuan,Ming and Qing periods is very prosperous.Jilin Province is close to the border,so organizational system was built a little late.The politic and economy fell behind the Middle areas,and as well the compiling of local chronicle is backwards.Now the total of local chronicles in Jilin Province is about 110 kinds,more than 600 volumes.All of these recorded our province's history,they will provide rich material to research the province's politic,economy,culture,military and geography.This paper briefly introduces Jilin Province's existing local chronicles,briefly analyzes the works of the main organization and the authors,tries to detailedly investigate these researchers' working,analyzes their research ways and technique methods,explores their research thoughts,unscramble thread of the academic about the research of Jilin local chronicles,provides some convenience for the latter who do the research about Jilin ch??cles.
