Studies On Hang Shijun's Academic Research

Hang Shi jun(1696—1773), styled Dazong, named himself Jinpu, was born in Renhe Zhejiang Provice. He was a famous scholar, historian and poet living in "the heyday of Emperors Kang Xi and Qian Long" .His studies on Confucianist classics research and history made him achieve tremendous successes in scholarship. This paper seeks to study or investigate thoroughly about Hang Shijun's scholarships, academic ideology and research methods by comparing, marshaling and analyzing the large number of historical documents at an academic history angle, that may fill a serious lacuna in studies Hang Shijun' s academic research.In more specific terms, the article would centre about following three chapters:Chapter I , Hang Shijun's Life Experiences and His Works. It describes Hang Shijun' s experiences and resolves some important questions in his life history. Then all of Hang Shijun's works and his wide association with friends is introduced.Chapter II, Hang Shijun's Academic Research on Confucianist Classics. Part One carries up the sources of Hang Shijun' s academic to find out the factors that formed his thought. Part Two works over his achievements in Confucianist classics research. Hang Shijun was accomplished in ritual works research, so Part Three studies on his achievements and characteristic in ritual works research by comparing his two books on ritual works. Finally, above two parts is related to summarize his ideology of Confucianist classics.Chapter III, Achievements and Thoughts of History Research. Part One focuses on Supplements to The History of Jin Dynasty, a book of Hang Shijun, to present his different achievements in history research. Part Two is about Hang Shijun' s thought and measures of history research. The last part discusses about local chronicles.Conelusion: Aggregate Hang Shi jun's contribution to the academic of QingDynasty and evaluate his status on the Academic History.
