Wang Chang's Study Of Ci Poetry And Ci Collections

This thesis gives an overall study about Wangchang and his Ci poem,focusing on the culture implication and social sources and trying to give comments as object as possible.The first chapter deals with his life story,remoting those errors on his years of birth by the previous researcher.Meanwhile,this chapter tries to make clear about Wangchang's family connections.Based on above,its various editions are classified and rearranged,with poetic collection as the focus,aiming at a thorough reform of its origion.Chapter 2 focus on its Ci study,centering on the Ziyang Acdamy and Sanmao Yuzhuang,analysis is carried out from the disciple,companiship and other respects. Research is also carried out on his Qinhulou Ci and Hongye Jiangcun Ci,its result shows that Hongye Jiangcun Ci did exist,but didn't go beyond the range of Qinhualou Ci,that means it is just a selection of Qinhoulou Ci,not a newly made one.Chapter 3 carries out a study on his thoughts of Ci by analyzing its prefaces and postscripts,and its Cihua of Xiyan Recluse.Wangchang praises highly on Ci style, honors Ci of the Southern Song Dynasty,and pays attention to temperament,and its disposition.He values expressing intention by association and succeed the poem moralization tradition.He thinks that anaylysis of Ci poem must be carried out on both personality of the author and the character of Ci.He states the influences of life environments on the work style.Generally speaking,Wangchang has a tendacy for Zhexi Ci Poetic School and Changzhou Poetic School.Chapter 4 holds a discussion on Qinhualou Ci.The Ci poem has a wide coverage,such as social intercourse with South East Event as the representative, poems of travel which shows the wandering and hard life of authors,and so on.His long Ci poems are featured with elegant and Xiaoling with pure and fresh,both of which shows the mentality of Wangchang as a Confucian scholar and senior official.Chapter 5 is a detailed study of his Cizong.It focus on the connection between Ming Cizong and Cihua of Xiyan Recluse,trying to dig of the historical significance and document value.Guochao Cizong and Guochao Cizong Erji are analyzed as well as their compilation motivation,selection criteria and influences.He states that two summaries represent the style of Zhexi Ci Poetic School.
