See "Xiang Xue" Again

Since the beginning of 21st century,literary circles has been paying great attention to the severe reality brought by social transformation.The creation of works has been apparently "turning outward" and a flood of novels with different names—like "new country narration","country folks entering cities","new left-wing novels", "writing on Subaltern Class" and etc.—have appeared.Those works have taken the moral responsibility of facing reality through literature and to some extent restore the traditional realism.However,the creation level is not high on the whole,and a lot of works are simply repeating others.This thesis tries to extract the countryside girls as the inspection object in those novels and do the out-and-in-text cultural analysis and interpretation to those female characters from the angles of "modernized narration", "appetency narration" and "the urban and rural social structure".The thesis would be based on the current research and would diagnose the vital point which has restricted the ideological and artistic level of the recent novels.The ascription of the images of those countryside girls are very controversial in contemporary researches.They have been put into different fictional types and writing traditions.And the discussion of their inheritance to the 1980s' literal images is barely vacant.This thesis would discover following points through the rereading of the classic text Oh Xiangxue:the character Xiangxue created by TieNing is the prototype of those female characters;Oh Xiangxue,a work written in the beginning of modernization,is the meta narration of those novels.It refers not only to the historical content and created form that the author realized,but also to some "cleft" hidden in the text and the historical unconscious aspect.In the introduction,I would re-interpret Oh Xiangxue.Then the thesis would be divided into three parts to discuss the changing of the character Xiangxue through the narration-interspersed-with-comments sort-out of the character pedigree.The thesis would also slightly discuss how the "cleft" became larger and larger in Oh Xiangxue.The conclusion part would generalize the core content and problem awareness of the whole article and point out:Assuming the image of Xiangxue has already included the recent countryside-girl-writing possibility,then if the creation about countryside and countryside girls wants a breakthrough,the writers must go deep into the reality of life and find new discourse space with all kinds of ideological resource.At the same time,the writers should no longer be entangled in the meaningless academic quarrels but re-activate the power of literal images.Only in this way,the new literal forms would be created to represent the contemporary passionate nation of China and enthusiastic Chinese people.
