A Study On Ju-ren In South Zhili Province During Ming Dynasty

On the basis of the studies on literatures and the statistics,we have studied importantly on Ju-ren in South Zhili Province during Ming Dynasty in above four aspects:the quality,the geographical distribution,the identities and the exams in classics.The thesis consists of four chapters:ChapterⅠ:We have made used of the record of Ju-ren in Nanguoxianshu(《南国贤书》) and Jiangnan Tongzhi of Qianlong(《乾隆江南通志》),and tride to get a revision of the record of Ju-ren on local gazetteers and other materials.Then,the quantity of Ju-ren in South Zhili Province during Ming Dynasty has been classified.ChapterⅡ:Firstly,we have analyzed the geographical distribution of local registered residence,nonlocal registered residence and the garrisons of Ju-ren in South Zhili Province,as well as Ju-ren in South Zhili Province who owe double registered residence and examined in non South Zhili Province.Secondly,we find out that the administration center and developed places owed more Ju-ren.ChapterⅢ:According the research result about Ju-ren who are from the local Confucian schools,the imperial academies and others,we learned that Ju-ren in South Zhili Province are mainly form the local Confucian schools,who are called Lin-sheng, Zeng-sheng and Fu-sheng.But different condition existed in different periods and regions,which is relevant to economy probably.ChapterⅣ:Our research result is that Ju-ren in South Zhili Province examined mainly in the Book of Songs and the Book of History in first half of Ming Dynast,and did mainly in the Book of Songs and the Book of Changes in second half.Moreover, we have differed from the condition about the exams in classics of Ju-ren,which is relevant to the local academic style probably.
