Study On Chinese Cultural Strategy Toward Southeast Asia In Perspective Of Geoculture

Culture is a top topic of international relations theory, and it has become a hotspot for strategist. It is a strategic choice for every country in the world to improve international position by the means of culture. With the deep going research and the development of Geo-strategy, Geoculture has become an important theory of realism of international politics. Southeast Asia is a crossroad of Oceania and Asia. Malacca strait is an important passageway on sea, which is a strategic passage in holding east and west. Southeast Asia and China, living adjacent to each other, shares the same mountains and rivers. China should improve the good relations of neighborhood with Southeast Asia in order to create harmonious surrounding environment. At present, Southeast Asia and China has achieved quite a lot in the political,economic and national security, but the cultural cooperation is lagging. Cultural identity, as a decisive factor, play an important role in the development of deepens bilateral cooperation. So we should strengthen cultural cooperation. The countries should trust each other on the basis of common culture and history. There are natural cultural universality between Southeast Asia and China for living adjacent to each other, historical communication and cultural fusion. This paper discussed the common cultural resource with Southeast Asia from a geoculture perspective, on the base of which put forward geocultural strategy to Southeast Asia.The preface give a brief description of research significance,research status,innovative points and research method. Then this paper is divided into three parts to discuss:The first part is theoretical basis: it mainly analyzed the concept and the historical origin of geoculture. The discussion of geocultural strategy to Southeast Asia depends on theoretical exploration of geoculture. In this part, historical origin of geoculture is firstly analyzed, on the basis of which, the concept of "culture","geo-" is defined. Then this paper put forward the concept of geoculture, which is a innovative points.The second part analyzed the practice of geoculture. The common points of geoculture between Southeast Asia and China are mainly discussed. Firstly the phenomenon, such as loanwords from Chinese,the Chinese and Overseas Chinese,transnational nationality,the Oriental Value, for the reason of living adjacent to each other, communicating historically, is discussed. Secondly, the advantages of the common points of geoculture between Southeast Asia and China are described. China should drive the exchange and cooperation of Southeast Asia and China on the base of advantages mentioned above, in order to enlarge effect in Southeast Asia.The third part researches the strategy. It mainly discussed that China implement geoculture strategy on the base of common geoculture. Above of all, the basic principle of culture cooperation is proposed. Secondly the disadvantages, such as the "American Factor","China Threat Theory","imbalance of development among different industry", are analyzed. At last, this paper put forward measures about how to implement geoculture strategy: China should integrate the Core Values between traditional culture and modern culture; China should promote cooperation and communication with Southeast Asia on the platform of ASEAN; China should develop the industry of culture which is productiveness; cultural identity on the base of Confucian Culture should be extended.
