In current foreign language teaching, the model of thinking becomes increasingly important, while imagery thinking arouses people's attention in recent years as a very important way of thinking and learning. Based on brain dominance theory and dual coding theory, the thesis made a research on the combination of imagery thinking and college English teaching, especially on the cultivation and application of imagery thinking in college English classroom from the perspective of learning process- perception, comprehension and memorization.Through college English classroom instruction's practice and the feedback, the research mainly draws the following conclusions: 1. Applying imagery thinking to college English classroom is able to arouse the students' enthusiasm of participating in class and enhance their interest in English learning ; 2. Cultivating imagery thinking of the multiple coding in college English teaching process can enhance comprehension and memorization effectively; 3. Imagery thinking can develop the brain's potential and promote creativity.
