Ethnic identity and implicit self-esteem are very hot issues of the current psychology researchers.The research of ethnic identity have risen in the 1960s,it influences the local and national stability,and individuals'mental health and personality development as well,so many western countries are beginning to pay attention to ethnic minorities identity earlier,Chinese scholars began with problems in the 2lst century,then the theory and empirical studies of ethnic identity have emerged one after another.Since A.G.Greenwald and others(1995) groundbreaking proposed the concept of implicit self-esteem,people's understanding and study of self-esteem rose to a new level, from the traditional conscious level into the unconscious level,Implicit self-esteem has gradually become the focus of the society,implicit self-esteem is one of the important research topics of the field of implicit social cognition,Chinese scholars began to empirical research of implicit self-esteem from different angles in the 21st century.The study discussed the characteristics and interrelationships of national identity and implicit of the college students of Yi nationality on this background.The results show that:1.The college students of Yi nationality exhibit positive identity on the whole,with both stronger original ethnic identity and national identity;there exists positive correlation between ethnic identity and national identity,and the former is higher than the latter;also there are demographic differences in original ethnic identity,there is main effect in major on the sense of belonging to the original ethnic identity,there is main effect in grade on the sense of belonging to the original ethnic identity,there are interactive effects in major and grade on the scores of the original ethnic identity and its cultural identity and social identity dimension.2.The effect of implicit self-esteem is very pervasive in the college students of Yi nationality,it has tendencies to evaluate oneself more positively in the unconscious level;At the same time, implicit self-esteem were significant differences in terms of gender and professional,no significant differences in grade.3.The implicit self-esteem scores of the college students of Yi nationality were with overall scores of national identity not significant differences with overall scores of ethnic identity,the high-and low-grouped of the ethnic identity were no significant difference with the high-and low-grouped of the implicit self-esteem,the scores of the college students of first-class of model were significantly or very significantly higher than the scores of the college students of the second-class model in the Chinese sense of belonging and implicit self-esteem.
