Role Stress And Emotional Labor: The Mediator Effect Of Social Support

Emotional labor is an important study of organizational behavior research, the work of college teachers belong to the type of emotional labor. Emotional labor will make a higher performance, but also has negative impact. How is emotional labor in the group of college teachers? How does the role stress of college teachers impact the emotional labor? What is the role of social support between emotional labor and role stress? How can we improve performance when prevent the negative impact from emotional labor at the same time effectively? These are the questions which this research will answer.This research adopts the methods of literature research and questionnaires survey to study the emotional labor and role stress of college teachers, and the role of prediction of role stress, and the mediator effect of social support between emotional labor and role stress, and discussed the scale of role stress and emotional labor for college teachers. This research issued 700 questionnaires, considered the demographic factors, used the Statistical methods of exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, variance analysis, The study obtained conclusions as follows:Firstly, the emotional labor of college teachers has significant positive correlation with role stress, and role stress can forecast emotional labor;Secondly, the social support of college teachers has mediator effect between emotional labor and role stress;Thirdly, multiple differences in demographic variables such as gender, age, position and so on, have been found on emotional labor, role stress and social support.Fourth, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis results show that the scale of emotional labor includes 17 items and the scale of role stress contains 22 items have high reliability and validity according to the requirements of psychometric.Implications for future research are discussed.
