1000 college students of different gender, grade and major from four universities in Si Chuan province have been surveyed via questionnaires. This survey on the one hand aims to master the basic conditions of college students, including stress, social support, subjective well-being, and psychological capital; on the other hand investigates the influence mechanism between psychological capital and social support, which is centered on the relationship between pressure and subjective well-being. This research not only fulfilled the existed findings on the theory of subjective well-being, but also provided related suggestions on pressure relief and subjective well-being improving. Results show that:1. college students stress varied significantly in genders and majors. Male college students’ pressure index is significantly higher than female college students; students majoring science and engineering score much higher than liberal arts students, while no significant differences showed in grade.2. College students’ psychological capital is generally well, but shows significant differences in genders and majors. Female college students’ psychological capital scores significantly higher than male college students, liberal arts students score significantly higher than science and engineering students; no great difference showed in grade.3. Social support has significant differences in genders and majors. Female college students score significantly higher than male college students, liberal arts students score the highest; no significant difference showed in grade.4. College students’ subjective well-being shows great difference in genders, grades and majors. Female college students’ subjective well-being score was significantly higher than male college students; freshman and sophomore students’ score is significantly higher than that of junior and senior students; liberal arts students’ score is significantly higher than that of science and engineering students.5. College students stress and social support, subjective well-being and psychological capital are notably related respectively.6. College students’ pressure, psychological capital and social support can effectively predict subjective well-being, but the predictive power of each dimension is different. Further advantage analysis shows that the contribution rate of each dimensions of college students’ stress and mental capital on subjective well-being prediction are bother, optimism, hope, resilience in descending order; contribution rate of social support dimensions on subjective well-being prediction are subjective support, exploitation degree support, objective support in descending order.7. Psychological capital is the intermediary variable between college students’ pressure and subjective well-being, and the mediation effect is remarkable.8. Social support is the regulatory variable between college students’ pressure and subjective well-being, and the regulating effect is significant.
