Wei rubbings is one kind of new calligraphy style that appears during Southern and Northern Dynasties time in our country. It mainly includes every kind of Stone Inscriptions during the Northern Wei Dynasty, the Eastern Wei Dynasty, Western Wei Dynasty, the Northern Qi Dynasty and the Northern Zhou Dynasty time. Because the Stone Inscriptions flourish most in Northern Dynasty' Yuan Wei period, thus it is called "Northern Wei Dynasty body", shorter form "the Wei tablet" or "north the tablet". The Wei tablet calligraphy style may mainly divide into four categories: the statuary approximately to record, the inscription carved on a cliff face, the stele, the inscription . Depending on how the Stone Inscriptions trace are presented, it can be divided into two styles: the oblong style represented by the "20 Stone Gate Treasures" and the circular style represented by the "Stone Gate Inscription" ,moreover these two kind of systems also are the representative to the "xiehuajinjie" style and the "pingmiankuanjie" style of Wei rubbings.This article selects Northern Wei Dynasty the "20 Stone Gate Treasures" as a compare with the "Stone Gate Inscription" in the artistic characteristic, the writing technique, the knot body, methodical, esthetic value many aspects. Take "the side pen" and "the round brush" as a breakthrough point, promulgates Wei the tablet carved stone calligraphy the writing technique wonderfully, to tie the unique charm which the body wonderful, the imposing manner strong, big change and so on other calligraphy styles are unable to compare, simultaneously concurrently does the omni-directional research to Northern Wei Dynasty by the later wei dynasty tablet art's development.This article first expand and analyze the Wei rubbings categories, characteristics and causes of art ,and then turn to case study of the two representatives from the aspects of the arts. This article Mainly compare and analyze the two representatives from writing, guitar body, the rules and so on; This article also research the "pen side" Whether or not are engraved pen engraved work; simultaneously analyze and re-create and verification the inscription on the art of calligraphy Wei rubbings. Then I compare the Wei rubbings style (stone carving art of calligraphy) and xiejing style (the art of calligraphy ink)of the Northern Wei Dynasty stand up from a macro perspective, and give a further demonstration of the Wei rubbings body' the lines whether be a truth of objective existence, and this "pen side" line directly come from Writing body during the Northern Liang period. Then I mainly research the reasons for the lack of this artistic style from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty ,and focus on this article' prosperity during the Qing Dynasty and the future development after the Qing Dynasty . I also analysis and research the development of this article at contemporary. From the research on substantial book of theory, their own trails and my learning experience, I extracted body Wei rubbings' "pen side" and "round pen" as the typical body language of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and compare the two Stone Inscriptions ,then we'll find , "pen side" and "round pen" as the main line throughout the birth and development of Stone Inscriptions of the Northern Wei, also it is a way to research its own development's law . As an entry point to these two points, it can guide us to resolve the art of calligraphy, as well as much of body contact, such as calligraphy, history, aesthetics, calligraphy techniques of the problem. As a vast art of calligraphy, even though there is a lot of similarities and differences of style, the art of calligraphy's typical body language "side pen" and "round pen", always accompanied by the emergence of the art of calligraphy, development and Change.Up to today, the two representives still continues to affect the art of calligraphy Wei rubbings creation and development. This is the thrust of this article with academic research where the results. This is the aim and piece of scholarship of the paper.Through the comparative study of these questions, I hope that this article be able to interpret the art of calligraphy, at the same time played some useful inspiration and help.
