After the foundation of new China,Ci(especially that of Tang and Song Dynasty),as the a traditonal and representative form of poetry, has drawn wide attention for historic and practical reasons, which is reflected in the compilation and propogation of Tang and Song verse anthology. As a main carrier and method of introducing and popolarizing ancient culture and literature, both before and after the great proletarian cultural revolution, Tand and song verse was ever numerously selected and published and had wide influence on the society. It can be said that Tang and Song Ci can well function as an access to enhance people's spiritual world and cultural qualities like Tang poems, a historic reflection of the past glory of culture, a spiritual feast to appreciate ancient poetic styles, and an exemplification of observing the development of modern poetry. Just like other forms of ancient literatue, anthology is by far the main access for people to approach and enjoy Tang and Song Ci,and thus plays an important role in the life of contemporary generation, especially that of the intellectual class.During the study of Ci,a growing number of researchers turned to Tang and Song Verse anthologies, but mostly focused on those published before the Republic of China. Bare attention was paid to those after the birth of New China, let along syetemic exploration. To some extent, this is a blank space in the academic area and worthy of more work.. Just because of this, the author chooses The Study of Tang and Song Verse Anthology after the Foundation of New China as the topic, aiming to fully understand the difference of acceptance and appraisement of Tang and Song verse anthology by people from different backgrounds in those past 60 years, to find out the psychlogical hint and subjective pursuit of composers influenced by specific political, ecomonic and cultural factors, to nail down the reasons why poets and Ci of Tand and Song Dynasties are highly valued, to decode the methods people employ while annotating, analysing and appreciating Tang and Song Ci, to clarify the new features, new styles and new trend of modern Tang and Song verse anthologies, as well as to conclude the hotspots and regulations during propogation.The thesis is divided into the following three parts:In the first chapter of this paper, the author employs sociological and cultural methods to review the social and cultural background before and after the great proletarian cultural revolution,and concludes the features and causes of Tang and Song verse anthology in different periods of time after the birth of new China. After outlining the development and trend of Tang and Song verse anthology, the author points out the changes in people's opinion about the form and style of Ci,and compares the anthologies, before and after the foundation of new China, to verify their different charistaristics.In Chapter Two, the author lists several categories of the most typical and indicant Tang and Song verse anthologies, works out the regulations through cases analyzation and concludes the features and trend in modern Tang and Song verse anthology. The impact and problems of typical Tang and Song verse anthology are also pointed out here.In the third chapter, the author states the social value of Tang and Song verse anthology from the following aspects: generalization value, philologic preservation, normal formulas, morphologic criticism and audient significance.The predecessors'opinion about Ci mainly comes from Ci Hua, a critic morphologic master work. This paper, nevertheless, is based on a special critic approach-Tang and Song verse anthology, and combined with specific times to study the changes of morphologic opinions, thus is mutually supportive with Ci Hua. Meanwhile, the qualitative analysis of modern statistics is introduced to analyse the acceptance and appreciation of Tang and Song Ci by people in modern society. Besides, the author brings in cases to conclude the wording features and innovation of Tang and Song verse anthology after the foundation of New China and comes up with some regulations. The study on Tang and Song verse anthology is of great significance, because seen from the cultural perspective, it is referential to the generalization of traditions and culture; seen from the literary perspective, it is enlightening to the conclusion of experience in spreading ancient literature, and seen from the philologic perspective, it is compatible with the content and requirement of philology and thus contributive to the compilation and research of literary philology. All in all, this topic is signigicant and worth deep exploration.
