From the contrast of Ji Yun and Guang Yun,We learn that Ji Yun is a book which shows a trait of inheritance,innovation and revise.On the basis of Guang Yun,some small rhyme was increased,deleted,transferred or merged in the Ji Yun.It also changed a lot of spelling rulers to reflect the phonology changes,such the consonant,the labial voice had differentiated,and the differences between labial initials(chún yīn) and dentals(shétóu yīn),retroflex stops(shéshàng yīn) also disappeared.About the vowels,Ji Yun mainly kept the contents of Guang Yun,Individual addition just was the reservation of phonology system.Ji Yun is not a pure but an admixture phonology system.But it is a bridge to connect the middle Chinese phonology system with the old Chinese phonology system, especially the substantial information of characters and the explanation of word in ancient books have a great role in the language system study.We show all of the small rhyme that did not consistent with Guang Yun phonological system in our paper,try to reveal the phonological characteristic of Ji Yun in a comprehensive way.and also show the effect in characters and the explanation of word in ancient books through some specific cases.
