The great achievement in the educational field of Zeng Guo Fan, one of legends during modern history of China, has been recognized consistently, even though there is no consistent appraisal of his merits and demerits in other terms. He is the man of great ambition and discipline resisting the earthy culture. The family letters of Zeng Guo Fan reflect his brilliant thoughts and characters. Inheriting the merits of Chinese traditional family letters, Zeng's letters is of its own style and profound thinking, also are well-organized coherently. Reviewing these letters from the perspective of Chinese language educaiton, the purpose of this article is to harvest some enlightenment to examine the disadvantage of Chinese language education in middle schools nowadays.In the introduction part, the meaning and purpose of the research is discussed while introducing the relevant research fruits, and historic background of these letters and the problem about Chinese education in middle schools nowadays are presented. The paper including three parts. In the first part, the article will discuss why Zeng's letters are their own style. These letters are concentrated on the Chinese language education, and this characteristic is rooted in the educational function of traditional family letters and the feature of Chinese teaching during ancient times. And the letters combined the traditional thoughts of Confucianism with the characteristic of the society he experienced. In the second part, the feature of teaching purpose, contents and methods embodied in these letters is discussed, such as the diversity of the teaching purpose and the flexibility of teaching methods and the feature that the Confucianism is the core of teaching content. In the third part, reviewing the educational thoughts about Chinese language teaching embodied in these letters, the issue concentrated on the problem and problem-resolving of Chinese language education nowadays is discussed. Lastly, the shortage of Zeng's letters is discussed.
