The relationship between poetry and painting are a major concern both in Chinese and Western aesthetic theory. From the perspective of poetry, this is the subject of the "painting beauty" in Chinese poetry. And its formation was a developing process.The earliest material on the origin of this theory between Poetry and painting can be traced back to the words in "The Analects of Confucius". But the people who first explicitly put forward this theory is Su Shi who lived in the Song Dynasty. To investigate the origin of the poetry which have the "painting beauty", "the Slingshot songs" is undoubtedly the first.There are lots of performance in "The Book of Songs" on the "painting beauty". However, as it's "painting beauty" is shown by the unconscious, it can only be regarded as it's early day. Wei and Jin Dynasties is the era in which the landscape and pastoral poetry began to emerge and mature. In addition, the landscape painting of Chinese has begun to sprout and development, so did the theory of them. So the formation of the theory of "painting beauty" is gradually appeared. Druing the Southern and Northern Dynasties period, the Six Dynasties poets began to deepen the Yijing of "painting beauty" of the poetry based on the development of the "painting beauty" theory in the past. Moreover, the mature of the landscape painting in this period also contributed life to the "painting beauty" in the Poetry.In the heyday of the Tang Dynasty, all aspects of the "painting beauty" of the Poetry are nearly perfect, one of the. most prominent was Wang-wei. Wang Wei's "painting beauty" in the Poetry reflectd the integration of the various aspect. In Wang Wei's poems, the painting aesthetic has been integrated an organic whole.
