The Research On The Domestic Appliance Design Based On Life Styles

More and more emphasis has been put into the research on the consumers'lifestyles by humanized modern design. Designers can dig for the target consumers'requirements by way of conducting research on people's bahaviors, values, consuming habit and product consuming habit and so forth. And because of domestic appliance not only constitutes an important part of the modern family lifestyles, but also soundly reflects typical family lives and their culture origins, the study of lifestyles becomes an important research direction of domestic appliance design. Subsidized by the Sichuan Changhong Group, the research which is called "Sichuan Changhong digital product conceptual design" is carried out in this context and cooperated by Changhong Innovation Design Center, Hunan University School of Design and Institute of Social Science Survey, Peking University. And this thesis probe into, from the design methodological perspective, exploring the relationship between modern domestic lifestyles and domestic appliance innovative design.This thesis begins with a demonstration of the background, objectives and applications of domestic appliance design research based on the life style investigation, and proposes a new life style research model through surveys on the current research and future trend of life style research application in design field, popular methods employed in life style research.In accordance with the model, thesis carries out the questionaire design and subsequently a field research of lifestyles which through the process of home interviews to record investigation data. With the SPSS statistics software, this thesis makes a systematic analysis and generalization on two categories-individual life styles and family life styles, and link lifestyles to domestic appliance using model.The achievements of this empirical study can finally provide guidance for the practical domestic appliance design. Yet it should be pointed out that the main objective of this paper is not to for a concrete product design solution, but offers a theoratical reference to which relavant design practice and research can make.The breakthrough of this paper lies in that the research of domestic appliance design methods is conducted by a preceding lifestyle research , and the feasibility and rationality of the lifestyle-research-based research on domestic appliance design methods are soundly explored.
