The Research On The Concept Design Of Electronic Appliance

I select product conceptual design as this thesis's subject, which is the most challenge stage in the product design process,and I apply my research into the family electronics appliances design as well.The thesis induce the basic principles(the second part) of concept design on the introducing its history, definition, contents, characteristics, importance, structures and classification(the first part). The thesis studies the process of the conceptual design which is concept generation,concept selection,concept realization and concept evalution and some methods of practical design in detail.Conceptual design has a complex process which need specialists in differentfields. In this thesis I divide them into three parts—industrial design,marketing andmechanism. The thesis stress looking at conceptual design in industrial designer's eyes and study what a industrial designer should do and how to do it in the three process.As the application,this thesis also studies the characteristics and trends of home electronic appliances and give one case of my designs in the field.There are three creative points in this thesis. Firstly,I study the conceptual design in details, which enhance the whole theory of product design; secondly,this thesisdistinguish conceptual design—the stage of product design from traditional conceptdeisign; at last,I combine the study of theory with practice which is one of the characteristics of designing arts.
