On The Singing Art Of The Coloratura Mezzo-soprano

The contemporary outstanding singers show us the singing art through their performances, which enrich and develop the sound art creatively. Among these singers there are a lot of mezzo-soprano singers who do well in the proformances and do a lot of contribution. Coloratura as the traditional skills has aesthetic principles and artistic thought. It is very hard to acquire the coloratura skill because it is only the persuit and character of mezzo-soprano, but also the necessary singing skill which can comprehensively develop the mezzo-soprano. The coloratura mezzo-soprano represents the progress of vocality art , which enriches the presentation of singing with strong color and artistic effect.As the coloratura mezzo-soprano singers, it is difficult for them to perform the coloratura skill due to its modernity, its overwhelming presentation and its comprehensive and extraordinary development. Therefore, it represents the features and aspiration of the Belcanto. The acquisition of the coloratura skill is sort of difficult, fot it needs not only the high-pitched voice but also the delicate practice. It is important to realise the idea of flexible voice in the teaching of vocal music which also has a great effect on the learners'training. The research on the coloratura mezzo-soprano is to solve the problems especially in the further study of the mezzo-soprano. The research is also the accumulation during the process of my study and the complement to the comprehension of the modern singing. On the one hand, the research on the performances and the singing art enriches the art of the vocal part, on the other hand it influences a lot on the development of the singing art.This thesis will discuss the artistic presentation of the coloratura mezzo-soprano singing in four parts:The first part will give a brief introduction of the development of the coloratura and the coloratura mezzo-soprano.The second part will put forward the basic skills and training methods in view of the coloratura mezzo-soprano study and training, how to solve the problems during skills training and how to master the special melody of coloratura.The third part will introduce the research on the singing style of coloratura mezzo-soprano works, will also make an analysis of the types, the characters and singing style of the coloratura mezzo-soprano in detail. Then take four arias with the coloratura mezzo-soprano melody as the examples to make a further analysis from the perspectives of the plot, the character and the singing skills.At the end of this thesis, will summurize the importance and necessity of the coloratura mezzo-soprano study and training through the comparison and practical analysis of different views towards coloratura art of three famous singers in different countries.Without the wide compass and the flexible voice, it is difficult to exhibit the artistic effect of the coloratura mezzo-soprano. Therefore it is worthy of doing research on this subject.
