| Cao xiumei, a coloratura soprano singer, was born on22nd November in Seoul.She studied the department of music in Seoul National University, followed Lichangsong to sing and got the diploma of singing and piano concert (performance). Inthe year when she was19years old,she went to Italy for further study in RomeShengqieqiliya Academy of Music and followed Bell Gonzi and Poleli to learnsinging. In1995, Cao xiumei took a chance to perform for the first time in Italy Operaafter graduation,and sang "Rigoletto" of Gilda.The year1988is the key for Caoxiumei. She got appreciation from Karajan andwas invited to sing opera “Masked Ball” of Oscar. She catapulted to fame with thispopular role and excellent performance. From then on, Cao xiumei became the focusof the public opinion. She won the applause in succession after singing “The MagicFlute”,“The Story of Hollman” and “The abduction from the seraglio” successively.To deserve to be mentioned, Cao xiumei has a broad career with her ability to singItalian art songs and opera and also master the skill of singing German and Frenchopera. The release of the new album “Only Love” in2000broadened her music careerfurther. She started to try to combine the classical with the popular together to singsome classical songs including film music, drama music and so on.From now on, there is no work to study Cao xiume comprehensively.
