Germanic King,the Emperor of Holy Roman Frederick I, red beard, he is quite famous in Europe in the Middle Ages,he was born in Germany,one of the two strongest families, Hohenstaufen family, is an Aggressive emperor,during his domination ,always associated with wars. And all his policies Service for the wars. Friedrich regulate the relationship between he and athelings by feudal lords law.But it made athelings strengthen their forces,and against to the Crown, the lion Henry is a typical case. As to finding a legal theoretical basis for his battle,and hope that he can get the Special rights of his previous generation Emperors,then he rejuvenated Roman law.Frederick invade Italy for six times,and struggle fiercely against the Pope. Although facing with a number of failures duing his battles, and is rather cruel,but some of his policies are in line with the characteristics of the times.especially,the Germanic people thougnt that he brought the country glory.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part,introduce Friedrich,during Friedrich's rule,the background of feudal institutionand the special nature of German feudalism. The second part,from the status of the Roman law and Friedrich's Political needs analy the causes of rejuvenating Roman law.Analy simplely of the historical significance of rejuvenating Roman law rejuvenation.The third part,and draw forth the struggle between between Frederick and the Pope.There are both struggles and compromises,but the mainstream is struggle. The fourth part,is to introduce the Friedrich's expedition to Italy,and analyse the impact to Italy,Germany and the Pope.The fifth part is the conclusion, appraise objectively from both positive and negative parts.
