Starting from the philosophical background, the author first discusses the translator's subjectivity in literature translation, and takes it as the framework of the following analysis of the news translator's subjectivity. One important precondition of the thesis is to regard the translator as an indispensable factor in the global communication system. The author explores the translator's subjectivity from the perspective of news production, circulation, and effect. To be specific, chapter 1 aims at providing the philosophical background and the theoretical framework, including the definition of subjectivity and translator's subjectivity, and 4 perspectives to approach translator's subjectivity in literature translation. In chapter 2 the author develops the translator's subjectivity in 3 aspects: firstly, translator's role as a gatekeeper in selecting news materials and the inter-subjectivity between the translator and the journalists; secondly, the principle of objectivity and accuracy in news production and translator's role as an persistent adherent of the principle and hence a rewriter in the case that the original writer violates the principle; and thirdly, translating process and translator's role as a reader, interpreter and writer. Chapter 3 proceeds to the circulation stage and focuses on 2 points: one is the inter-textuality between the source text and the target text, and the other is the cultural difference between the source country and the target country. Chapter 4 focuses on the effect. And the reader's awareness of the translator in translating is mainly discussed. Chapter 5 is the conclusion part. It summarizes the pluralistic roles of translator, and concludes that translator is no slave to the writer and the original text but center of translation with independent identity.
