Duplication refers to the pattern composition appearing more than twice (including twice), where the same basic shape, involving pattern shape, size, direction, color, texture and other factors, is in the same visual space. Duplication is a form of consciousness about sculpts. It is not unique for prints, but included in the realm that prints express. Duplication has been given more specific meaning in the visual representation, due to variety of print type and multiformity of craftsmanship. Duplication is an important form of manifestation in the course of contemporary Chinese printmaking. And with it, subjectively, the artists apply duplication to pattern structures and visual impressions, expanding the expression of prints, promoting the diversified development of printmaking.In this paper, through materials, I have combed and analyzed the print works of duplication; with its content, where relates to esthetic trait of expression of duplication, moreover, put it into art language of contemporary printmaking, I am going to explore and illustrate the form of artistic expression and the visual language that can not be neglected in contemporary printmaking. To the printmakers, due to the infiltration of duplication, the consummation and the exploration of printmaking language itself obtains abundant resources and expansive space for development, making print arts generate intense sense of rhythm and modern, breeding stronger shock and touch,reflecting the unique aesthetic characteristics of duplication.
